Pickert and Hoelting

Kathryn Ann Pickert and Clifford Joseph Hoelting were married Oct. 13, 2007. The Rev. Tom Dolezal performed the ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Ann Pickert of Lenexa. A graduate of Emporia State University, she is employed by Designs by Kate - Sola Salons.
The groom is the son of Mark and Tamara Hoelting. A graduate of Pittsburg State University, he is employed as a firefighter and carpenter.
Matron of honor was Allison Hamlin, a friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Pendleton, Lauren Pickert and Kelly Lorigan.
Best man was Clayton Hoelting, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Nick Hoelting, Michael Hoelting and Jeremy Gribbin.
Readers were Bruce Pendleton, Erin Gribbin and Emily Mayfield.
Flower girls were Charlotte Pickert and Avery Hamlin. Albert Hoelting was ring bearer.
A reception at the Lake Quivira Country Club followed the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, the couple are at home in Shawnee.

Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?

Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
