Walker and Rhodes
Joanna Walker and Drew Rhodes, both of Pittsburg, Kan., announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be, the daughter of Mark and Pam Walker of Shawnee, is a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School and of Pittsburg State University. She is a registered nurse at SEK Urgent Care.
The groom, son of Ron and Barbara Rhodes of Pittsburg, is a graduate of Pittsburg High School and Pittsburg State University. He is a store manager for Ron's Supermarket in Pittsburg.
The couple plans to wed Oct. 20, 2007, at the Hilton KCI.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
