Peck and Coleman
Amy Kathleen Peck and Jason Ray Coleman, both of Shawnee, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jack and Mary Ann Peck, Merriam, and is a fourth-grade teacher with the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools. She is a 2006 graduate of Kansas University.
The prospective groom is the son of Del and Betty Coleman, Bonner Springs, and is a rental manager with Coleman Equipment. He is a 2004 graduate of KU.
The couple plan a wedding for July 17, 2009, in Shawnee.

Schleicher and Bailey
Jami Schleicher and Adam Bailey were married Sept. 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, with the Rev. Michael Hawken officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Deanna Schleicher, Shawnee, and the granddaughter of Richard and Patricia Schleicher, Roeland Park, and Henry and Wini Windisch, Prairie Village.
The groom is the son of Brace and Diana Bailey, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and the grandson of George and Norma Bailey and William and Eula Jackson, all of Excelsior Springs.
Matron of Honor was Marla Schleicher; bridesmaids were Kelly Schleicher, Dani Penner, Stacy Wisdom, Laura and Kathleen Windisch, Allison Beilharz and Megan Bentler.
Nathan VanVickle was best man. Groomsmen were Ronald Wisdom, Eric, Phillip and Brady Schleicher, David Merrill and Joe Archer.
Serving as ushers were Michael Holsworth, Conrad Beilharz and Josh and Matthew Bentler. Flower girls were Bailey Wisdom and Lillian Schleicher. Ring bearer was Ethan Schleicher. Lindsey Highley and Christy VanVickle lit candles.
The bride and groom were honored at a buffet dinner and dance reception at the Arrowhead Club.
After a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, the couple are at home in Kansas City, Mo.
The bride is employed by Primerica; the groom is employed by the Kansas City Police Department.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
