Leslie Nigro and Damion Freeman, both of Shawnee, announce their engagement and upcoming nuptials.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Sharon Nigro, Shawnee. She is a 1999 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and has earned a bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University and a master’s degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a senior tax analyst with Kansas City Southern Railway.
The prospective groom is the son of Richard and Gwenolyn Freeman, Shawnee. He is a 1999 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and attends Johnson County Community College. He is a coach and hitting instructor at Tom Urquhart’s School of Baseball.
The couple plan a wedding on Oct. 18, 2008, in Overland Park, in which the groom’s daughter, Valyrie Grace Freeman, will serve as flower girl.

Nicole Rosner and Daniel Farley Jr., both of De Soto, Mo., announce their engagement and upcoming nuptials.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Ramona Rosner, Shawnee. She is a 1998 graduate of Bishop Miege High School and is a paralegal with Stewart, Mittleman, Heggie & Henry L.L.C.
The prospective groom is the son of Daniel Farley Sr. and Tammy Davison, St. Louis. He is a 1998 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2001 graduate of Jefferson College. He works in sales at Surdyke Motorsports.
The couple plan a July 25, 2009, wedding in Kansas City, Mo.
Wedding
Wiseman and Bosley
Melissa Blondell Wiseman and Joshua Gary Bosley were married Aug. 16, 2008, at Chapel of Veterans in Leavenworth, Kan., with Bill Center officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Lisa Wiseman, Edwardsville. The groom is the son of Gary and Coleen Bosley, Bonner Springs.
Chrisie Wiseman was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lacey Bryant and Lexie Manning.
Colby Scheidt was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Moore and Sean Sipes. Ushers were Mark Wiseman and Jeremy Wiseman.
Also attending the wedding couple as hostesses were Jessi Morasch and Mindy Hernandez.
A reception followed at the Riverfront Community Center in Leavenworth.
The bride and groom both are graduates of Fort Hays State University and are employed by L.G. Barcus and Sons.
After a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple are at home in Edwardsville.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
