Thompson and Hamker
Cliff Thompson, St. Louis, and Kathy Rausch, Shawnee, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Thompson, to Chris Hamker, son of Russ and Susanne Hamker of Wichita.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is employed at Lockton Companies.
The prospective groom graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed at Burns & McDonnell. Both Amanda and Chris are currently attending graduate school at Rockhurst University.
The couple plan an October 2009 wedding with Amanda’s cousin, Father Robert Flannery, officiating.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
