Liston and Karley
Laura Ann Liston and Brett Douglas Karley were married Sept. 4, 2010, at the Deer Creek Golf Club, Overland Park. Pastor Brian Phipps officiated at the 5 p.m. outdoor ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Don and Marty Liston, Shawnee, and the groom is the son of Doug and Bunny Karley, Shawnee.
Sarah Buller was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Andrea Chamblin, Kelly Drees and Margot Pickering. They wore above-the-knee dresses of black dupioni silk with light sage green sashes and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas.
Best man was Sam Hund. Groomsmen were Chris Liston, Steven Steele and Joe Hund. The groomsmen wore white orchids and ties to match the bridesmaid’s silk sashes. Ushers were Paul Ward, Jorge Estrada and Guillermo Estrada.
Katie Kramer, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. Justin Kramer, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Ashley Ward, sister of the groom, was reader. Jenna Lichter, cousin of the bride, was vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. A reception at Deer Creek Golf Club honored the newlyweds.
The bride, a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of Kansas State University with degrees in accounting and finance, is employed with Deloitte. The groom, who was in the A.B.C. Journeyman Program at Metropolitan Community College, is employed with Schultz Brothers Electric Co.
After a honeymoon to Saint Lucia, the couple are at home in Shawnee.
David A. and Suzy (Taylor) Moore, longtime Shawnee residents, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26, 2010, with a private family dinner.
The couple was married Dec. 26, 1960, in Woodstock, N.Y.
They have three children, David Moore, Greg Moore and Ted Moore; and nine grandchildren.
