The Old Shawnee Day's Parade is one of the largest in the state of Kansas. The parade route is Nieman Road and Shawnee Mission Parkway north to Nieman to Johnson Drive west to Cody in front of Shawnee Town. Emcee of the 2008 Old Shawnee Days Parade will be Mike Thompson, Fox 4 chief meteorologist.

Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
