JCCC starts $15M effort
May 19, 2004
Johnson County Community College kicked off its $15 million capital campaign with a champagne toast and the announcement that the JCCC Foundation already has raised $8.6 million of the $15 million goal.
The capital campaign will raise funds to support the construction of two new buildings on the JCCC campus -- the Regnier Center for Technology and Business and the adjoining Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Regnier Center will house current and emerging computer and biotechnology courses for credit and continuing education, the college's Center for Business and Technology and its Information Services branch. The Nerman Museum will have galleries to exhibit works by regionally, nationally and internationally known artists and will offer educational programs in the visual arts for area children and adults.

Talking points
How often do you go to the library?
“I almost never go there at all — only with my wife, Kim. She checks out, I’d say, at least three books a week. The kids go with her, and she teaches them how to find things.”
