Private graveside services for Edward William "Buckshot" Dodson Jr., 83, Lawrence, were Friday, May 14, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mr. Dodson died Tuesday, May, 11, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Lawrence, the son of Edward William Sr. and Ivy Blakenship Dodson. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1940.
Mr. Dodson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a bricklayer for 50 years and was a member of Bricklayers Local No. 15. He and his wife owned several rental units in Lawrence, and he was active in that business until his death.
He married Tillie Wojtech on Jan. 27, 1951, in Chicago. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Crawford, Shawnee; three sisters, Virginia Copp and Goldie Harmon, both of Lawrence, and June Burdon, Wichita; and three grandchildren.
