Obit: K. Rondell Cooper

Tonganoxie

K. Rondell Cooper, 74, Tonganoxie, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at his home. Funeral services were held May 17 at the West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie. Burial was at the Palco Cemetery in Palco, Kan. Memorial contributions can be made to the Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Alden-Harrington Funeral Home (913) 422-4074.

Mr. Cooper was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Chanute, Kan. He was an electronic engineer for WOI-TV at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He later moved back to the Tonganoxie area in 1989. Since retiring to this area he has been a member of the West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie, where he has served as a trustee for many years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian Sutor Cooper, in 1977, and his father, Kenneth G. Cooper, in 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Heald Cooper, of the home; two sons, James Leon Cooper of Ames, Iowa and Kenneth J. Kolb of Watertown, Minn.; a daughter, Linda Sue Rathje of the Ukraine; his mother, Ada Cooper, of the home; a brother, Jeral G. Cooper, Tonganoxie; a sister, Carol F. Brungardt, Bella Vista, Ark.; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
