Obit: David Elden Jackson

David Elden Jackson, 83, Tonganoxie, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Services were held Friday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2907 N. 81st St., Kansas City, Kan. Burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Palco, Kan. Visitation was prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Graham County, Kan. the son of David Edward and Viola Mae (Bass) Jackson. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart for his wounds. He retired from Simmons Mattress Co. after working as a machine operator and mechanic for 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post #5851 and Bethel Presbyterian Church, both in Kansas City, Kan. He married Doris Fountain on Nov. 9, 1944, in Hill City, Kan.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; two sons, Bruce Jackson and Craig Jackson, both of Tonganoxie; two daughters, Ruth Jackson, Tonganoxie; and Kathleen Trisler, Coffeyville; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
