Obit: Robert “Jim” Shivers

Robert "Jim" Shivers, 48, Lansing, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Providence Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial following in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Shivers was born Sept. 12, 1957, in Kansas City, Kan. He was married to his wife, Deb, on Jan. 8, 1977, at the Bible Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, where they met as children, growing up in that church. He had worked for 23 1/2 years at the Marley Cooling Tower Co. in Overland Park as an engineer draftsman.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Clifton, in 2003 and by his parents, Roscoe Shivers and Consuelo Salinas. Survivors include his wife, Debra Shivers, of the home; three daughters, Amanda Shivers, of the home; Shawna Shivers and fiancee, Matthew Worrall, Lansing; and Charmaine Williams and husband, Robert, Bonner Springs; two grandsons, Dakota Michael and Trustin Wesley; two brothers, Joe Alvarez, Eudora; and William Shivers, Shawnee; and four sisters, Carmen Johnson, Bonner Springs; Juanita Mora, San Antonio, Texas; Beverly Kester, Lawrence; and Fancisca Oldham, Richmond, Mo.
