Obit: Stephen E. Sasnett
Stephen E. Sasnett, 47, a resident of the Piper area of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005. Services were Tuesday at the Basehor Baptist Church with burial following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Monday evening at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Sasnett was born June 12, 1958, in Atchison and had lived in the Kansas City area for the last 40 years. He worked as an electrical technician for Consolidated Container for 20 years. He earned an associate degree in electrical science from Kansas City Kansas Community College and has worked for Mag-tronics for the last nine years. He loved cars and racing, watching NASCAR every Sunday and working in his garage on his own street stock that he raced at Lakeside Speedway. He was very skillful with his hands, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his granddaughter and singing Karaoke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Sasnett. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Maria Sasnett, of the home; a son, Bryan Sasnett and wife, Kristi, Lenexa; two daughters, Stephanie Sasnett, Piper; and Mandy Vierthaller and husband, David, Olathe; his mother, Claudene Sasnett, Basehor; two brothers, David Sasnett and companion, Marie Oropeza, Kansas City, Kan.; and Timothy Sasnett and wife, Elizabeth, Lansing; two sisters, Debra Hayes and husband, Al, Garnett; and Michelle Foley and husband, Chris, Fredericksburg, Va.; and a granddaughter, Taylor Marie Sasnett, Lenexa.
