Obit: Dorothy Caroline Anderson
1914-2005
Kansas City, Kan.
Dorothy Anderson, 90, died March 24, 2005. She was born on Dec.17, 1914, one of 13 children of Lawrence and Nealy Cain in Calloway County, Mo. Prior to her 18-month stay at Tonganoxie Nursing Facility, she resided in Kansas City, Kan.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Anderson Sr., Independence, Mo.; and Cletus Anderson, Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Marie Rackers, Jefferson City, Mo.; and a brother, Frankk Branch, of Arizona. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Gallipeau; and by two sons, Kenneth Dale Anderson and Robert "Gene" Anderson. She leaves 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Anderson loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was everyone's grandma. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time in her flower garden.
Services were Tuesday at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Monday evening at the funeral home.

Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
