Obit: Jeanette Hartegan
1917-2005
Midland, Texas
Jeanette Hartegan, 87, of Midland, Texas, and formerly of Bonner Springs, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at a Midland area hospital.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Serenity Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Rodney White. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Springs St. in Midland.
Mrs. Hartegan was born May 29, 1917, in Leavenworth.
She grew up and attended school in Leavenworth. She lived in Midland for 2 1/2 years, moving there from Kansas. She loved to laugh and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Gene "Bud" Smallwood, and his wife, Shirley, of Garland, Texas; a daughter, Karla Long, of Midland; five grandchildren, Kyle Long, Kara Ross, Chris Smallwood, Clint Headley and Kellie Headley; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hartegan; her parents, Frank and Mary Jane Hittle; a daughter, Jeannine Headley; and a grandson, John Headley.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland TX 79702. They also wish to thank Hospice of Midland for the loving care given to Mrs. Hartegan during her illness.
