Valerie Tesche Crawford, 47, Overland Park, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at her home. Mass of the Resurrection was held Friday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Visitation was Thursday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 97100, Dallas TX 75397.

Mrs. Crawford was born May 14, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., to Richard E. and Betty (Hayes) Tesche. She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. On May 20, 1989, she married Bruce Crawford in Mission.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1991. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Crawford; her mother, Betty Tesche, Prairie Village; sisters, Kimberly and her husband, Jim Nelson, Kansas City, Mo.; and Denise Tesche, Prairie Village; five nephews and two nieces.
