The Shawnee Dispatch is keeping a waiting list for a possible second printing of its popular book, "A Pictorial History of Shawnee."
The first printing of the book, produced in cooperation with the Shawnee Sesquicentennial Committee, sold out earlier this month.
Anyone who wants to express interest in further copies of the book may do so in one of two ways: either by placing their name on a sign-up sheet at the Dispatch office, or by completing an online form on a special page at the Dispatch Web site. Persons who wish to sign up may call 962-3000 ext. 111, or go to:
www.shawneedispatch.com/150book. There, they will be directed to the online waiting list. The office signup sheet is posted on the front door of the office at 10314 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, suite 260.
If a sufficient number of people want the book, it will be made available at the previous price of $39.95 plus tax.
Persons who sign up on the waiting list are not making a commitment to purchase the book, however. The purpose of the list is simply to gauge interest in a possible second printing.
