Obituary: Marlin M. (Murphy) VanDruff

Marlin M. (Murphy) VanDruff, 75, McLouth, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McLouth Cemetery, McLouth. Visitation was Tuesday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.

Mr. VanDruff was born July 29, 1930, in McLouth, the son of Grover and Lila (Shrader) VanDruff. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a fireman. He was a retired postal worker and school bus driver. He married Jo Ann (Yoakum) Gibson in 1976 in McLouth.

He is survived by his wife, Jo An VanDruff, of the home; two sons, Tim VanDruff and Dale VanDruff, both of Lawrence; three stepsons, Tim Gibson, Lawrence; Chuck Gibson, Kansas City, Kan.; and Al Gibson, Lawrence; two daughters, Lisa VanDruff, Lawrence; and Cayla VanDruff, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Cindy Hackathorn, Oskaloosa; two brothers, David VanDruff and his wife, Claudia VanDruff, Basehor; and Larry VanDruff and his wife, Helen, Tonganoxie; a sister, Esther McAfee, and her husband, Herman, Caney, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren.
