Dry weather leads to burn ban
The Shawnee Fire Department recently announced a burn ban within city limits after a prolonged period of dry weather conditions.
The city has indefinitely suspended the issuing of any permits for burning, and any permits issued for after Feb. 28 are considered null and void. Burn permit holders may contact the fire department at (913) 631-1080 to make arrangements to use those permits once the ban has been lifted.
The fire department will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will resume the issuance of burn permits as soon as conditions will allow.

Do you know who you’re voting for in November?
“Chuck Baldwin; he’s the Constitutional Party candidate. It’s the only conservative choice on there, as far as I can tell.”
