Gunman hits Commerce Bank on Shawnee Mission Parkway
The Commerce Bank, 11000 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., was robbed at about 11 a.m. Monday.
Shawnee Police Capt. Ron Copeland said the suspect was a black male, 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10, wearing a light blue ball cap, glasses and light blue scrubs.
Copeland said the robber entered the bank and approached the teller, showing her a handgun in his waistband. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen walking eastbound on the northern frontage road along Shawnee Mission Parkway, carrying a red cloth bag.
