1st Shawnee car show is a success
The rain and dreary weather didn't keep some of the hottest vehicles on the road from the intersection of Johnson Drive and Nieman.
More than 90 cars and motorcycles parked in the streets of the blocked-off intersection for the First Annual Wheels & Dreams Car and Bike Show Sunday, organized by the Shawnee Downtown Business Association. Though the weather was gloomy, co-organizer Mike Unterreiner said the show was a hit.
"It rained on us pretty much 90 percent of the time," Unterreiner said. "At four o'clock, when we did the awards ceremony, the rain stopped and the sun came out and it was beautiful... but everybody was real good about it and said they didn't mind the rain."
