Obituary: John Oden Clifford Hegge

John Oden Clifford Hegge, 89, Lenexa, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Sunrise Senior Living, Lenexa. Services were Friday at the Shawnee United Methodist Church. Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Chicago, Ill. Memorial contributions may be made to either, Shawnee United Methodist Church, 10700 Johnson Dr., Shawnee KS 66203 or Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City MO 64114.

Mr. Hegge was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to John O. and Hilda (Carlson) Hegge. He was a graduate of Oak Park High School, Oak Park, Ill., and attended Drake University and Tulsa University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church and past member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Medley Asmann Hegge, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Virginia Kay Hegge, Beverly Hills, Calif.; two sons, John Steven Hegge, Denver; and Michael Joseph Hegge, Merriam; their mother, Betty June Johnson, Overland Park; grandchildren, Jason Alexander Hegge, Kristofer Jon Hegge, and Julie Christina Hegge; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Louise Hegge; and three step-grandchildren, Suzanne Southard, Andrew Southard and Grady Southard.
