Obituary: Chester E. Bowman

Chester E. Bowman, 88, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Overland Park Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 21, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Overland Park. Visitation was prior to the service with burial in Shawnee Mission Gardens, Shawnee. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar, Overland Park, KS 66207.
Mr. Bowman was born June 19, 1918, in Marceline, Mo. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a diesel electrician for 32 years at Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of VFW Post 846.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Opal (Ruehling) Bowman; two daughters, Debra Roberts of Bonner Springs and Barbara Wohletz of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Robert Schwartzman, Joseph Wohletz, Linzie Wohletz, Chad Wohletz and Heather Wohletz; and one great-grandchild, Max Wohletz.
