Wednesday/Jan. 3
- School resumes for K-12 except for Merriam-Park students.
Monday/Jan. 8
- Classes begin at the new Merriam-Park Elementary School.
- enninghoven Elementary School "Sneak a Peek" to kindergarten, 10 a.m. Future kindergarten students and their parents will have the opportunity to visit the school. Reservations required, call 993-1990.
- Shawnee Mission Board meeting at the McEachen Administration Center, 7235 Antioch, 7 p.m.
Tuesday/Jan. 9
- Deadline for entries to the PTA Reflections Essay Writing contest.
- Broken Arrow skating party, 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday/Jan. 10
- Broadmoor Bistro, 6 p.m.
Thursday/Jan. 11
- Broken Arrow math club meets before school.
- Broadmoor Bistro, 6 p.m.
Monday/Jan. 15
- No school.
Tuesday/Jan. 16
- Sixth-graders at Merriam-Park will get orientation from Hocker Grove Middle School students, 1 p.m. Parent orientation in the evening, 6 p.m.
- Trailridge Middle School will host parent orientation in the school's gym, 6:30 p.m. Parents of incoming seventh graders will have the opportunity to learn about the school.
Wednesday/Jan. 17
- Band festival, Shawnee Mission North, 7 p.m.
Monday/Jan. 22
- Nieman book fair all week.
- Shawnee Mission Board meeting at Shawnee Mission West High School, 8800 W, 85th St., 7 p.m.
- ighth-grade orientation night for Shawnee Mission Northwest. Teachers and staff will provide next year's freshmen and their parents with information about academics, clubs and sports. For more information, call the school, 993-7200.
Tuesday/Jan. 23
- Nieman PTA chili supper, choir performance and book fair.
- Shawnee Mission North presents "Northern Exposure" to next year's incoming freshmen and their parents. There will be information about academic courses, elective classes and special programs. For more information about Northern Exposure, contact the school, 913-993-6900.
Monday/Jan. 29
- Bluejacket-Flint kindergarteners will host "Project Preschool Gym Day," to incoming students on physical fitness, 8:40 a.m.
Monday/February 5
- "Empty Bowls" event to sponsor City Union Mission's poor and homeless, tickets are $15 and include a dinner from Panera Bread, a ceramic bowl made by Shawnee Mission students and the district-wide art show at Shawnee Mission West High School.
Wednesday/Feb. 7
