Obituary: Newell E. Sharp

1925-2007

Kansas City, Mo.

Newell Sharp, 81, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Shawnee, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at his home. Services were Saturday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation was Friday at the chapel.

Mr. Sharp was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Trenton, Mo.

He served six years in the U.S. Navy before becoming a millright, working at the Hercules Ammunition Plant. He then worked for General Motors for more than 20 years before his retirement.

Survivors include the wife, Janet Sharp; two daughters, Linda Kinne and Karen Compton; two sons, Edward Sharp and James Sharp; three sisters, Norma Leary, Lorene Davison and Marie Coy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
