Obituary: Edna Marie Donlen
1931-2007

Edna Marie Donlen, 75, of Lenexa, formerly of Shawnee, died March 14, 2007, at Kansas City Hospice House. Services were Monday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota, Kansas City, Kan. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Donlen was born in Redding, IA May 3, 1931. She was a loving wife and mother, and dispatcher and school crossing guard for the Shawnee Police Department, helping students of Bluejacket Grade School in Shawnee for 18 years. Edna enjoyed spending time at Lake of the Ozarks with her family. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward Donlen; sons, Jack and Bill Rader, and Randy, and Steve Donlen; brothers: Dale and Darrell Thurman, and sisters: Dorothy Irion, Betty Brown, Shirley Killburn, and Vera Wyrick, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grand children. Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
