Letter: Follow the money
August 5, 2008
To the editor:
Regarding the mysterious $392 reimbursement on a City Council member's expense account:
The key words of the Watergate investigation and scandal were, "Follow the Money." Following the money made two reporters and a determined editor world famous and brought down a corrupt administration and a corrupt president of the United States. Straub is posturing and insisting, "Your councilman is not a crook." Well, give him enough rope and see if he can prove it. What else have they done? If they cannot be honest about $392, how can we trust them to spend $20 million on a little country road?
I wouldn't mind pardoning Straub and Pflumm if that is what it would take to get rid of them.

Talking points
Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?
Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
