MARC carpool program expanded
July 2, 2008
The Mid-America Regional Council's RideShare program has developed a new service for companies that want to support affordable commute practices. Employers can now request that RideShare's Carpool Connection online matching tool be customized for their organization, giving employees the ability to search for someone to share the ride both within their own company and in the regional database.
RideShare's employer module includes a calendar feature where employees can record their commute activities, such as carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, bicycling, walking and telecommuting. Trips recorded on the calendar are rolled into reports for the employer to see how many miles of driving have been reduced.
To learn more about the Carpool Connection, visit marc.org/rideshare or contact RideShare at 816/842-RIDE.

Talking points
Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?
Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
