Poker run benefit set

Jake's Place, 12011 Johnson Drive, again will serve as the starting point for the 2nd Annual Poker Run to benefit Sunflower House, a child abuse prevention center based in Shawnee.
The ride will begin at noon July 12, with registration beginning at 10 a.m., sponsored by the Friends of Sunflower House and the Best of the Best Club. The ride will weave through Shawnee, Bonner Springs, Lawrence, Edgerton and Lenexa.
A $20 donation to Sunflower House will cover one hand of cards. Prizes include $200 cash for the highest hand and $100 for the lowest hand. Registered riders also will have the chance to win additional prizes and giveaways. A 5 hour performance will be auctioned off; it includes DJ services and a light show from Platinum Sound Mobile Music, a $1500 value.
