Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s two-day event the weekend of June 6 and 7 at 25 Kansas City-area Hy-Vee grocery stores, including the store in Shawnee, raised more than $85,000 for childhood cancer research.
The total for the lemonade stands, combined with online and corporate donations, raised $119,457. Throughout the remainder of the year, the Kansas City effort will continue to raise money from individual donations and corporate fundraisers.

Talking points
