Shawnee Mission Medical Center was among 25 east Kansas businesses recently recognized for contributions to their communities and the economy at the Kansas Department of Commerce's annual Kansas Business Appreciation Month East Regional Awards ceremony in Topeka.
The event was the fifth of six regional events staged throughout June. At each ceremony, one company in each of three categories - Manufacturing/ Distribution, Service and Retail - is awarded a Business Excellence Award, with remaining companies given a Business Achievement Award or a Merit Award.
Shawnee Mission Medical Center was the Business Excellence Award Winner in the Service category.
