Local man joins Ottawa board

David J. Grummon of Shawnee recently joined the Ottawa University Board of Trustees.

Grumon was selected by the university's committee of trustees and appointed by the board to a three-year term effective Jan. 1, 2008.

Grummon graduated from Ottawa University in 1999 with a degree in Political Science. He earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas Law School in 2002.

Grummon served as a law clerk and a sole practitioner attorney at the Law Offices of Albert Herdoiza, Thomas Fields, et. al. in Kansas City, Kan., before opening his own practice in 2004.

Grummon is a licensed attorney in both Kansas and Missouri and holds memberships in the Kansas Association for Justice, the Wyandotte County Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.

Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
