Storm damages fields at 3&2

Heavy storms tore through Shawnee and the surrounding area on Thursday night, but the most damaging aspect of the storm may have been the wind.
Take one look at the 3and2 Baseball East and West Complexes, and you'll likely agree.
Other than being a little bit wet, most of the fields are in good shape to play. Three fields were hit hard by the storm, however.
Field 2 at the East Complex, and fields 12 and 21 at the West Complex sustained heavy damage to their outfield fences.
The damage to field 2 appeared to be extensive enough to force games to be either delayed or moved, but repairs at the West Complex were moving much more quickly.
Arturo Aguilar, Dean Schurr and Kenny South spent about five hours repairing the outfield fence on field 12, a youth field with 125-foot fences. By noon the fence was almost completely repaired.
"We've got 5 o'clock games," Schurr said. "We'll be ready to play."
Calls to 3&2 Facilities Director Tom Gray weren't immediately returned.

Talking points
Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?
Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
