County to conduct budget hearing

A preliminary budget hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, for discussion of the proposed fiscal year 2009 budget for Johnson County government.
The public meeting will take place in the Hearing Room of the Johnson County Board of Commissioners on the third floor of the Johnson County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St., in downtown Olathe.
Members of the Board of County Commissioners, county management, department and agency representatives, and staff from the Budget and Financial Planning Department will discuss the budget process, present an overview of the current $735.3 million budget and respond to questions.
