Shawnee Mission Board of Education, teachers agree on contract
May 8, 2008
The Shawnee Mission USD 512 Board of Education and the Kansas National Education Association of Shawnee Mission agreed on a two-year contract for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years.
The agreement includes an increase in the base salary, a step increase, professional growth advancement, an increase in the hourly rate and an increase in supplemental pay.
There also will be an increase in the district’s contribution toward a single premium under the district’s HMO health plan.
The contract agreement is dependent upon the ratification by the Board of Education and district teachers.
For more information on the agreement, pick up a copy of the May 14 Shawnee Dispatch.
Talking points
Whom do you think John McCain should choose as his running mate?
“Sometimes he has a perception of being ambivalent, and he could pick a woman who has a strong record — there are some good choices out there. He’s probably going to have to make some choices about what voters he wants; if he chooses someone like Mitt Romney, he could get more conservative voters.”
