St. James blasts Basehor, readies for regionals

The game ended a few minutes early on Friday afternoon when the St. James Academy girls soccer team earned an 11-1 mercy-rule victory over Basehor-Linwood at Stump Park. The lopsided win was a celebratory conclusion of sorts to the end of a regular season loaded with progress and success for St. James.

The Mill Valley boys and girls track teams swept the team titles on Wednesday evening at the Kaw Valley League championships at Santa Fe Trail High School in Carbondale.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 435 at the U.S. Highway 69 interchange will close overnight the weekend of May 16-18 for bridge construction work.
