Mill Valley baseball, softball teams headed to regionals

The Mill Valley baseball and softball teams have learned their destinations for the Class 5A regional tournament.
The baseball team will stay close to home by playing in the St. Thomas Aquinas regional. Mill Valley (9-10) earned the No. 6 seed and will play third-seed Harmon (11-6) at 2 p.m. Monday at the 3&2 East Complex. No. 2 seed Aquinas (14-6) will play No. 7 Bishop Miege (3-17) at 4:30 p.m. The winners of each game will play at 7 p.m. in the championship game.
The Mill Valley softball team will make a road trip to Pittsburg for its games. The Lady Jaguars (7-11) earned the No. 6 seed and will play No. 3 Bishop Miege (9-10) at 3 p.m. Monday. No. 2 Pittsburg (10-8) will play No. 7 Gardner-Edgerton (4-16) at 4:45 p.m. The winners of both games will meet in the finals at 6:30 p.m. with a berth in the state tournament at stake.
