North, Northwest set for 6A baseball, softball regionals

The brackets have been set for the Class 6A baseball and softball regional tournaments.
In baseball, Shawnee Mission North and Shawnee Mission Northwest have been set in the same bracket. North, 0-18 and the No. 12 seed, will play No. 1 Olathe East (17-3) at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the College Boulevard Activities Center. No. 6 Northwest, (13-5) will meet No. 7 SM South (9-9) at 4:30 p.m. The winners of both games will play for the championship at 7 p.m.
The softball teams will head to separate regionals.
North (13-7) is the No. 7 seed. It will face No. 6 Olathe South (14-6) at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the CBAC north field. No. 1 Olathe East (18-2) and No. 12 SM East (0-20) will play at 4:45 p.m. The winners of each game will meet in the finals at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, SM Northwest, 6-13 overall and the No. 11 seed, will play No. 2 Olathe North (16-4) at 4:45 p.m. at the Olathe District Activity Center. Prior to that game, No. 5 Blue Valley Northwest (15-5) and No. 8 SM West (11-9) will play. The winners of both games will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the finals.
