Mill Valley softball team storms into state tournament

Pittsburg The Mill Valley softball team is headed to state.
The Lady Jaguars entered the Class 5A regional tournament Monday as the No. 6 seed with a 7-11 record. They exited the tournament as champions after shutting out No. 3 Bishop Miege in the semifinals, 4-0, and hammering No. 2 Pittsburg in the finals, 13-0.
Senior pitcher Ashley Jones tossed a four-hitter against Miege and followed it up with a dazzling two-hitter in the finals. Meanwhile, her teammates hammered seven hits against Miege and 13 against Pittsburg.
