May 13, 2008
Mill Valley High School senior Bjorn Sparrman was named grand champion for the Congressional Art Competition.
Bjorn's two-dimensional artwork will be on display in Washington, D.C., for a year. As the winner, Bjorn will receive three airline tickets to Washington for the unveiling and a $5,000 scholarship to the Savanah College of Art and Design, which he could use for a summer program.
Talking points
Whom do you think John McCain should choose as his running mate?
“Sometimes he has a perception of being ambivalent, and he could pick a woman who has a strong record — there are some good choices out there. He’s probably going to have to make some choices about what voters he wants; if he chooses someone like Mitt Romney, he could get more conservative voters.”
