The Maranatha Academy boys placed first and the girls were third in the varsity blue races on Saturday at the Rim Rock Farm High School Cross Country Classic in Lawrence. Shawnee Mission North’s Alex Hendee and Nathan Sloniker competed in the boys varsity gold race. Hendee placed 12th in the 5K race in 16:45.05. Sloniker wasn’t far behind, finishing 23rd in 17:01.35.
