Shawnee man dies while fishing at Shawnee Mission Park
October 13, 2008
A Shawnee man died from unknown causes Sunday while fishing at Shawnee Mission Park.
Capt. Terry Anderson of Johnson County Park Police said several park visitors in shelters saw Christopher Lisko, 31, park on the north side of Shawnee Mission Park Lake near shelter 7 and walk along the shore line to fish. The next time they saw him, around 3:45 p.m., he was face-down in the lake.
Park visitors’ attempts to revive Lisko with CPR were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead after emergency officials arrived. Anderson said the cause of death is unknown at this time, and though an autopsy was performed Monday, results were not yet available.
