De Soto BOE to quiz candidates
September 23, 2008
The De Soto USD 232 Board of Education will play host to a candidates' forum at its regularly-scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 in its chambers, 35200 W. 91st St., De Soto. The purpose of the meeting is for the board to engage candidates in a dialogue about the issues affecting public education.
Candidates who are scheduled to attend are:
¢ Kansas Senate 9th District, Julia Lynn and Ron Wimmer; and 10th District, Pete Roman (Mary Pilcher Cook is unable to attend).
¢ Kansas House of Representatives 38th District, Anthony Brown and Stephanie Kelton; and 39th District, Owen Donohoe and Joe Novak.
¢ State Board of Education, District 2, Sue Storm and Mary Ralstin.

Do you think the state should do more to help businesses near K-7 and Johnson Drive as an interchange is constructed?
Given the time the state has had to prepare, I don’t think completing the access road before starting/ closing Johnson Drive is an unreasonable request from these businesses or those of us who patronize them.
