MVHS jagPRIDE receives award
September 23, 2008
The Allstate Foundation and National Organizations for Youth Safety have awarded Mill Valley High School's jagPRIDE $1,000 for excellence in bringing safe teen driving to the Shawnee area.
The Mill Valley club joins 49 other youth organizations nationwide that earned the award in a contest that was part of National Youth Traffic Safety Month in May.
JagPRIDE earned the award for its Shattered Dreams Mock Accident on April 25, witnessed by the entire Mill Valley student body as well as eighth-graders from Monticello Trails and Mill Creek middle schools.
The award funds will be used to support future jagPRIDE events.

Talking points
Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?
Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
