Shawnee police are investigating what appears to have been a drive-by shooting Wednesday night in a southeastern Shawnee neighborhood.

The roads will be wet on the drive this morning and there is a chance for some heavy rainfall. If you’re on your way to Topeka you can expect some construction delays along I-470 and US Highway 24. If you’re headed toward Kansas City expect minor delays along I-70. Drive safely.

Do you think the state should do more to help businesses near K-7 and Johnson Drive as an interchange is constructed?

Given the time the state has had to prepare, I don’t think completing the access road before starting/ closing Johnson Drive is an unreasonable request from these businesses or those of us who patronize them.
