Dinner to raise research funds
September 30, 2009
Rosedale Aerie 1100 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will cook chicken-fried steak dinners as a fundraiser for diabetes research.
The Eagles will serve the dinners from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., or until they run out of the fixings, on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Eagles Aerie, 4726 Merriam Drive, Overland Park. The aerie is a block east of Antioch on Merriam Drive.
Cost per dinner is $9. Proceeds will be donated to the Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa.

Point of View
Do you think the state should do more to help businesses near K-7 and Johnson Drive as an interchange is constructed?
Given the time the state has had to prepare, I don’t think completing the access road before starting/ closing Johnson Drive is an unreasonable request from these businesses or those of us who patronize them.
Question of the week
Which area team will last longest in this year’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament?
