Student hit by car in front of SMNW

A student was struck Tuesday morning trying to cross 67th Street to get to Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.
Shawnee police reported that the accident occurred at 7:35 a.m. A 13-year-old Trailridge Middle School student, who attends advanced classes at Northwest in the morning, was attempting to cross 67th Street at Rosehill to get to Northwest and was struck by an SUV driving westbound on 67th Street.
The student was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, and no charges will be filed against the driver.

“We are all Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. My family won the best in family floats in Shawnee’s St. Patrick’s Day parade a few years back. We got to have a big trophy for the year. My sons love throwing out candy on the parade route.”
