St. James boys win fourth in a row
February 6, 2010
St. James Academy took some lumps as it weathered its way through a daunting schedule during the first half of the boys basketball season.
Now the Thunder are hitting their stride.
They’ve won four games in a row, the latest being a 58-40 victory Friday at home against St. Pius (Mo.) X.
The Thunder raced to a 17-10 lead by the end of the first quarter and built a double-digit lead by halftime. They continued to pull away from there and coasted to the finish.
Clint McCullough led all scorers with 18 points, Mike Huppe had 17 and Jonathan Anaekwe added 13 for the Thunder.
St. James (10-6) next plays at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Baldwin before closing out the regular season with games against Eudora, Louisburg and Atchison.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
