February 7, 2010
Seven St. James Academy wrestlers earned medalist honors Saturday at the Silver Lake Invitational.
Two Thunder wrestlers — Taylor Moeder and Ryne Cokeley — both brought home individual championships.
Moeder was the tournament champ at 130 pounds. He won his first two matches by pin before beating Brandon Charbonneau of Emporia by an 8-1 decision in the finals.
Cokeley captured the title at 145 by pinning his first two opponents and beating his last two by decision. He used a 2-1 decision to beat Emporia’s Chase Sanchez in the finals.
Max Mancuso reached the finals but placed second at 119. He had a 2-1 record for the day.
Also for St. James, Rory Haug placed third at 152, Zach Pollom was fourth at 135, Nick Mancuso placed fifth at 103 and T.J. Vielhauer was fifth at 140.

Point of View
Do you think the state should do more to help businesses near K-7 and Johnson Drive as an interchange is constructed?
Given the time the state has had to prepare, I don’t think completing the access road before starting/ closing Johnson Drive is an unreasonable request from these businesses or those of us who patronize them.
