7 SJA wrestlers medal at Silver Lake

Seven St. James Academy wrestlers earned medalist honors Saturday at the Silver Lake Invitational.
Two Thunder wrestlers — Taylor Moeder and Ryne Cokeley — both brought home individual championships.
Moeder was the tournament champ at 130 pounds. He won his first two matches by pin before beating Brandon Charbonneau of Emporia by an 8-1 decision in the finals.
Cokeley captured the title at 145 by pinning his first two opponents and beating his last two by decision. He used a 2-1 decision to beat Emporia’s Chase Sanchez in the finals.
Max Mancuso reached the finals but placed second at 119. He had a 2-1 record for the day.
Also for St. James, Rory Haug placed third at 152, Zach Pollom was fourth at 135, Nick Mancuso placed fifth at 103 and T.J. Vielhauer was fifth at 140.

Do you think it is important for Shawnee to be bicycle-friendly?
I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
