Broadmoor Bistro lecture features St. Louis chef

The Wysong Family and James Beard Foundation will again sponsor the Broadmoor Bistro Lecture Series, featuring visiting chef Gerard Craft.

Craft will prepare a meal at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the bistro, 6701 W. 83rd St. in Overland Park. Reservations are required and can be made at www.broadmoorbistro.com for $50 per person.

Craft is originally from Washington, D.C., and now, at 25, owns the Niche family of restaurants in St. Louis, where his cuisine embodies sharing food and wine in a fun environment. Food and Wine named Craft Best New Chef in 2008. He was a James Beard Best Chef Midwest Finalist in 2009.

The lecture series is funded by a grant from the Wysong Family Foundation for the benefit of Broadmoor Technical School Culinary Arts and Commercial Baking program.

The 2010-11 visiting chef line-up schedule is Jan. 25, John Currence; March 1, Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby; March 29, Jason Wilson; April 26, Gabriel Rucker.
